Happy Birthday, Kyle! Today my oldest grandchild became a teenager. He is a great young man (I was going to say 'boy' but he has now grown beyond that. I am very proud of Kyle. He has an extremely kind heart. I know God has something very special for his future. I love you, Kyle, and will forever.

A Very Proud Grandma Pat.

Here are some pics of the grandkids this summer. I borrowed some of the pics from my son's and daughter's families
Lucas and Sidney riding the tube at Centerville Lake.
Sam & Anna sleeping.
Q and Kyle riding the tube.
Kyle and Val in the boat.
Q & Val on vacation July '07
Anna Mae on vacation July 2007
Tanner & Erica helping the artist finish the mural on the high school Tanner will be attending.
I only got a couple of pictures of Ben's wedding. This is of me and Elmer. He looked very good and very happy. He enjoyed himself and so did I. The next picture is of their wedding cake. The flower colors were gold to deep orange roses, very striking. The bridesmaids dresses were royal blue, halter tops and flowing skirts, very nice. I didn't even notice Becky as she came down the aisle because I was looking for the little girl-Becky, and she looked all grown up, a beautiful young lady. The last picture is of the head table before everyone sat down. And that is when my battery died in my camera. I am waiting for more pictures from Nancy K. I sat be her at the reception and had a very nice time. She is a mail carrier. Marty couldn't come, neither did Marcia or Russ as they were at Ted Turners buffalo ranch, I think the one in Utah.

Finally! I didn't think I would ever say this again, but today I was COLD! I drove up to Mora to see my brother play slow-pitch softball. It rained all the time so we were all soaking wet and freezing. I called my sister in Florida just to feel some of the warmth (telepathically) to try to warm up. My brother and his son both played. They did well. It was the end of the season finals tournament. It looked so fun that I felt like I wanted to play, too. But I know I wouldn't have the strength to hit the ball, much less be able to run the bases. I need to remember that I am 11 years older than he is (and I was kidding him that he is OLD!) So, after a very wet Waldo and I got home, he got a nice warm bath and then we both had a nice long nap. I am finally feeling like I can take my sweatshirt off and just go with a t-shirt. I'll write more on the wedding when I'm not so tired. Have a nice evening.
My daughter-in-law cleaned up the picture so you can see it. This is me with my 3rd yahtzee of the game! all 6's. Love playing games with the kids and grandkids!

Vacation Notes from August

Isn't she adorable? Of course, I'm a little bit prejudiced. After all, she is my grandaughter. She will be 1 year old in a few days. She is getting better all the time at walking. It was so fun to be able to spend some time with her. She definately has the self-will and determination of her middle brother, maybe even more so! We had a great time. I also enjoyed being with her mom and dad and big brothers. The boys were busy with camps and the usual summer busyness. While there, I was also blessed to be able to attend a Portland Beavers semi-pro baseball game with both Kerry's family and Travis' family. I sure am glad I taught all my kids to love baseball games. Speaking of baseball games, I am going to a Twins game next week with 4 friends from church.
I also was able to spend some time with my daughter-in-law and grandson one afternoon with a couple of games of yahtzee. This picture is of Erica as she had to take a 13 on chance. The other picture is of me as I got my 3rd yahtzee. That picture is a little dark. My grandson took that one. I still don't know how to get the pictures in the place in the blog where I want them. They all go at the same place. I will try something else and see if I can move some of them to within the post instead of all at the beginning.
What do you know?! It worked!! I guess there's no end to my talent!!

Kerry told me to update my blog, so here goes . . . Today I got my hair cut and a manicure. My brother Ron came over to show me his new car - a red convertible "Nwe Generation Camero". He gave me and Renata and Waldo a ride in it. It is really cherry!! (Does that date me or what?) I also bought a wedding gift for tomorrow's wedding. I will post info about the wedding after the fact. It might be a while after, because on Sat. I need to help clean the church, and then go to a softball tournament that my brother Dale is in. I'm looking forward to that. It should be fun. I had no damage from Monday night's storm. But the wind sure blew hard, the rain came down sideways, and we had a little pea sized hail that melted before the rain finished. I love storms, but my Aunt Hilda was here and she was a little spooked by it all. Oh, also today, I forgot about a therapy appt. I should have gone to this morning. I told Kerry that I don't really need that therapy anyway. It is for the brain damage from the accident. But since I forgot, does that mean that I really DO need it after all?? Sometimes I get so confused.
